Dolphins dive in for new season

Thetford Dolphins kicked off the autumn and winter season by welcoming swimmers from 13 clubs in the region, to their annual Nifty 50’s Open Meet.

For the 57 Dolphins swimmers over their 206 swims, trophies were awarded for six first places, 11 seconds, 12 thirds, 10 fourths, 14 fifths and 12 sixth, including 82 personal best (pb) times.

Swimmers who placed in top three were:

Nine-year-olds: Emma Malcolm (third 50m backstroke, breaststroke and 100m individual medley). 10-year-olds: Alice Fasey (second 50m breaststroke). 11-year-olds: Alfie King (second 50m freestyle and backstroke, third 50m butterfly); Daniel Clark (third 100m IM); Katharine Mold (third 50m butterfly). 12-year-olds: Georgina Dickenson (first 50m breaststroke). 13-year-olds: Heidi Last (second 50m butterfly, third 50m backstroke); Jacob Clarke (first 50m freestyle, second 50m backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, third 100m IM); Macaulay Harvey (first 50m breaststroke, third 50m freestyle). 14-year-olds: Alex Darton (third 100m IM); Dan Collins (first 50m backstroke, butterfly and 100m IM, second 50m freestyle and breaststroke). 15 and over: Amie Copp (third 50m breaststroke); Grace McGill (second 50m butterfly and 100m IM, third 50m backstroke).

Other competitors with a top-six finish: Isaac Clark, Maisie Francis, Emily Duffy, Daniel Ashford, Elena Armes, Alexander Clark-Massey, Georgina Free, Jacob Wright, Sam Worsnop, Alexandra Ashley, Rory Butler.
