Jetts Netball Club were presented silverware by England players after their first trip across the English Channel to play in the Sport Experience Disneyland Netball Tournament.

Some 36 club members made the journey to France a week ago on Sunday with three teams – two under-14s sides and one under-16s – to compete among around 100 sides.

The competition was spread over three days with day two focussing on skills training, supported by many England netball coaches including Manchester Thunder’s Karen Greg.

At the presentation evening Jetts A Under-14s were awarded winners of the Showdown Shield, with Jetts B Under-14 finishing seventh and Jetts Under-16s finished sixth in the Challenger Cup.

Individual players were acknowledged for their efforts: Sasha Campbell (Jetts’ player of the tournament), Gabriella Mann (agility) Scarlet Cutting (skills) Hannah Chadwick (passing skills) Alice Temple (ball handling. These awards were presented by England and Maverick players Sasha Corbin and Lindsay Keeble.

Club manager and head coach Tracey Butcher said: “Our players worked hard fund-raising to support this tour but we must once again thank our main club sponsor, Anglia Coffee Solutions, and TGA and Premier Print who supported this particular tour.

“We all enjoyed the experience and we will definitely be back on tour in 2016.”
