Former Elmsett Primary School pupils Toby, Oscar and Noah Cutting — aged 16, 13 and 12 years old respectively — achieved a first in Suffolk tennis by reaching all four county finals and winning two of the titles.

Noah claimed the under-12 county title in a match against Travis Ireland, 6-7, 6-0, 10-2, but Oscar lost the under-14 final to Jonathan Simmonds, 6-4, 6-4.

Toby reached the finals of both the under-16 and under-18 events, losing out in the under-16s to Ben Jones, 6-3, 6-0, but claimed glory in the under-18s with an excellent win over Ryan Lambert, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Speaking of his family’s achievements — who are all Culford School tennis scholars — Toby said: “Winning a county title is fantastic, but what’s really rewarding is to play in the tournament as brothers — it gives us a real achievement buzz.”
