IES Breckland School in Brandon is proving itself something of a haven for top basketball players.

Both their boys’ and girls’ under-14 basketball teams have been crowned west Suffolk champions after comprehensive wins over other schools in the county.

Most notable of the boys’ victories was a 95-11 defeat of Mildenhall College, while the girls’ stand-out result was a 40-15 win against Farlingaye High School, Woodbridge.

Both teams have qualified for the county finals, which were held on Wednesday, February 6, at Suffolk One in Ipswich. County winners will qualify for the national finals.
