Archers on form at start of season

Have your say

Saint Edmunds Archers have got their season off to a strong start with two gold medals already in the bag.

The latest came from new club member Gaye Hitchcock at the Noak Hill club in Romford for their Record Status Western event.

Prior to that, she had taken her long bow to shoot with the Royal Richmond Archery Club back on April 15.

She shot a national round and then at the Record Status Pagoda Shoot on the 21st of the same month she shot a Windsor round, gaining a bronze medal by coming third in the Ladies Longbow section.

At the first tournament of the year, at a windy Raydon Hall near Hadleigh in the fourth annual Soup Shoot, Ian Cummings took a gold medal for the third time in the National Gents Recurve section.

The other Saint Edmund Archer to take part on April 14 was Dave Eagle, who came a respectable third.
