Alldis third

HANDcyclist Brian Alldis’ preparation for this summer’s Paralympic Games continued as he competed in the first of the British handcycling series staged in Salt Ayre.

On the custom made cycling circuit, Alldis started strongly and was soon involved in a three-way battle with Robert Wickham and Chris Madden as they lapped the rest of the field.

In the end it came down to a final sprint, but Alldis was unable pass the two more experienced riders with Wickham and Madden claiming first and second respectively, as he settled for third. The Bury St Edmunds-based rider will now turn his attention to preparing for this weekend’s European handcycling road race in France.
