Mildenhall Fen Tigers will be searching for swift revenge when they host Cradley Heathens in the National League on Sunday (3.30pm).
The Tigers were eliminated from the Knockout Cup by their arch rivals on Tuesday, but victory this weekend would see them close the five-point gap at the top of the league standings.
Cradley – formerly Dudley – have won six of their seven league encounters so far this campaign and defeated Mildenhall home and away in the cup to win 108-72 on aggregate.
In the second leg at the Heathens’ Ladbroke Stadium on Tuesday, only Josh Bates (10+1), Joe Jacobs (10+1) and captain Dan Halsey (8) – the latter two pictured right – provided any real resistance as Mildenhall were beaten 59-33.
Connor Coles scored three points and Brendan Johnson one, while Connor Dwyer and David Holt – who replaced Jack Kingston and Connor Mountain for the meeting – notched a solitary point between them.
