Bury Town have been dealt a blow in their aim of making an immediate return to the Ryman League Premier Division next season with the departure of influential player Connor Hall.

Following the Blues’ relegation to Division One North, Hall — last season’s Supporters’ Player of The Season — has become the first major departure after agreeing to join David Batch’s St Neots Town, who play in the Southern League Premier Division.

However, Hall, who currently lives in St Neots, is set for a swift reunion with his former club with Bury due to travel to his new club’s Rowley Park ground for a pre-season friendly, later next month.

Meanwhile a host of last season’s squad have put pen to paper to commit themselves to the club ahead of the new Division One North campaign which kicks off on Saturday, August 8.

Experienced midfielder John Kennedy has agreed to remain at Ram Meadow and will be joined by Remi Garrett, James Paterson, Craig Nurse, Phil Weavers and Tevan Allen.

The club have also confirmed that talks are continuing with the remaining squad members and have also begun with potential new signings.
