Ryan Jolland’s 94th minute goal gave Bury Town the points after the game looked to be heading for a draw.

The Blues struck first on 12 minutes with Noel Aitkens heading home from a Darcy De’ath trademark long throw, which was headed on by Ollie Fenn to Aitkens at the far post.

On 25 minutes, Ollie Hughes broke down the wing and worked the ball in on goal, only to have his shot saved by the alert goalkeeper.

A Bradley Barber corner on 29 minutes was met with a towering header from Fenn, which went just high of the bar, before a skilful overhead kick from Hughes went inches wide of the post nine minutes later.

Tilbury saw more of the ball in the second half and went close to pulling level on 50 minutes.

Connor Mead drove down the wing and put a deep cross into the danger area, but Bury defender Andrew Cusack cleared the ball close to goal.

Fenn had a chance to double the home side’s lead two minutes later, but his shot was cleared off the line by Tilbury’s Aaron Waters.

The visitors were finding chances to get back into the game and Bury goalkeeper Neil O’Sullivan had to be at his best on 67 minutes, as he saved at full stretch from Mead’s strike from distance.

At the other end, Clark Bogard made a great reaction save to deny Hughes before, with just four minutes of normal time left, Tilbury equalised.

Taking advantage of an indecisive Bury defence, Kurt Smith reacted quickest to smash the ball past O’Sullivan.

Bury then snatched the win on 94 minutes when Josh Mayhew got to the byline and pulled his pass back across the box for Jolland to steer the ball inside the far post.

The Blues (11th) visit league leaders Brightlingsea Regent tomorrow (3pm).

n Bury Town’s Ryan Yallop has been named in the provisional 15-man squad for Suffolk FA Under-18s’ final match of the season.

Yallop, along with Ryan Gibbs (Walsham-le-Willows), Dan Knight, James Carragher and Will Crisell (all Needham Market) will travel to take on Norfolk FA at the FDC at Bowthorpe, Norwich on Tuesday.
