West Suffolk College students received a special visit from wheelchair rugby star Andy Barrow through the Active Colleges initiative.
Barrow is one of Great Britain wheelchair rugby’s most successful players having competed at five European Championships, three World Championships and two Paralympic Games.
He also captained Great Britain from 2005-2009 and led the team out at the Beijing Paralympics.
“As a Sport England Sporting Champion, I hope I can inspire all the young people in attendance to sustain their sports participation and raise their own aspirations of what they can achieve,” said Barrow, who took the pupils through sessions of inclusive sports and life skills.
Active Colleges is Sport England’s £25 million National Lottery fund which aims to help more college students play sport.
