Howards and Gym are set for cup final date at Ram Meadow

Howards will meet Gym United in the final of the Plastic Trade Frames Bury and District Sunday League Division One Knockout Cup at Bury Town’s Ram Meadow ground on March 22 after beating Cock Inn 2-0 in the semi-finals, writes Ian Friend.

In league action, Cockfield overcame Tostock 2-1 in Division One thanks to goals from Tom Graham and Joe Horgan, while Gym United saw off Buxhall.

Ash MacDonald netted all four goals for Bury Bowl in their 4-1 victory at Coldham Hall in Division Two — taking his overall club tally to a landmark century.

Thurston, Great Whelnetham and Labas also picked up three points in Division Two, with Vitalij Stunza’s hat-trick securing the latter a 3-1 success over Ixworth.

There were wins for CFC Bury and FC Gulls in Division Three, as well as Danepak, Abbotts and Norton in Division Four, which also had a 2-2 draw between Liberty and Moreton Hall.
