Attleborough Boxing Club’s Connor Holloway missed out on Senior Novice Under-56kg National title glory after suffering a final defeat to Doncaster Boxing Academy’s Colliston Edwards at the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, London at the weekened.

After struggling in the first round, Thetford-based Holloway responded with powerful punches throughout the second, resulting in a close round.

However, it proved too little too late for the Norfolk boxer as he was out powered by his opponent in the final round as he clinched a unanimous decision, leaving the Holloway to settle for silver.

Head coach Jon Dennis said: “Connor did exceptionally well. He has only been competing for a year, so to reach the national final was a superb accomplishment.

“It was a close bout. Connor boxed well throughout the second and gave his all in the last round, landing some incredible shots, it just wasn’t his night.”
