Hole-in-one success celebrated by Symonds in Thetford

Adrian Symonds enjoyed a memorable outing at the Thetford Golf Club Spring Open after sinking a hole-in-one.

Among a bumper turn-out, Symonds aced the 208-yard 11th hole but it was not quite enough to secure victory in the better-ball pairs event, finishing third alongside partner Jeff Riley, on countback , with 36 points, one behind winners Paul Swindells and Tony Murikrisna and runners-up David Sissons and John Yuill. There were also two special events at Thetford over the weekend. Phil Beer and Sharon Caws won the Powell Cleek mixed event with 33 points, one ahead of Graham and Linda Norman, while the beer challenge was won by John Ward, Peter Croker, Mike Horley and Nolan Guthrie with 92 points.
