Hogg wants to give Bury RUFC fans reason to cheer
Gavin Hogg is looking for Bury St Edmunds RUFC to ‘put the wrongs right’ from their last home game when they host Barnes (13th) at the Haberden tomorrow (3pm), writes Alex Moss.
The ninth-placed Wolfpack return to home comforts this weekend in good spirits after a 29-26 victory at Exmouth last Saturday saw them pick up their first away win of the campaign.
And Bury’s director of rugby Hogg is now targeting another milestone for his side as they look to continue climbing up the National League Two South table.
“We’ve got to raise the levels of our performance again if we are to get back-to-back wins (for the first time this season),” he said.
“We go into Saturday’s game very determined to put in a good performance.
“We were massively disappointed with how our last home game went (lost 37-17 to Redingensians Rams).
“We want to put the wrongs right and give our home fans something to cheer about.”
Bury’s inside-centre Liam McBride (hamstring) picked up an injury while on international duty last weekend, representing the Netherlands in their 54-12 win against Ukraine in the Rugby Europe Trophy, and faces a late fitness test to determine if he is recalled.
