Danny Halsey feels the Mildenhall Fen Tigers have been dealt a reasonable hand in their opening fixtures for the 2015 campaign.

The Tigers’ skipper is confident they can show off their trophy credentials early doors after being given what on paper looks to be an easy start.

First up for the West Row-based outfit will be a trip to Hoddesdon to take on the returning Rye House Raiders in the National Trophy on Saturday, April 4.

This will be followed by the first leg of a National League Knockout Cup clash against King’s Lynn Young Stars at West Row on April 12 — with the return at the Norfolk Arena scheduled for April 15 — before taking on the Kent Kings in their first National League meeting on April 19.

“The start of the fixture list is better than we normally have and it could have been much worse,” said Halsey.

The team will ride in official team race suits this season after striking a sponsorship deal with Hadleigh-based Complete Car Services.
