Gym United retain Sunday Cup

Gym United retained their Suffolk FA Sunday Cup crown after overcoming Ipswich-based YourShirts in a 4-2 victory.

The Bury and District Sunday League winners won the title for the first time last season as Andrew Wood scored five times in a 6-4 win over Kitchener Taverners, but it was striker partner Wayne Proctor who stole the show this time with a four-goal haul.

Proctor scored in the 12th, 33rd, 39th and 57th minutes, while Martin Hodgkiss and Adam Nuttall were on target for the runners-up.

The cup was presented by James Ryan, Head of Finance at P&O Ferrymasters.
