Lucinda Gooderham will be gunning for World Championship Glory after receiving a late call up to the Great Britain squad.

Having impressed during recent the recent training camps, the Garboldisham-based ace has been handed a spot in the women’s four boat alongside Rebecca Chin, Karen Bennett and Holly Norton for the championships in Aiguebelette, France, with the event, which starts on Sunday, doubling up as an Olympic qualifying regatta.

The GB Rowing Team enjoyed a successful championship last year, winning a total of 10 medals in 2014 including four golds, four silvers and two bronzes, with the four golds coming in the women’s pair, men’s four and eight and the para-rowing mixed coxed four.

And following on from that success, Great Britain’s Performance Director Sir David Tanner has warned Team GB are ready once again to challenge.

“The GB Rowing Team is ‘ready to go’ and looking forward to taking on the best in the World, fresh from our finishing training camps,” he said.

“The extra fizz at this year’s Championships comes from the battle for Olympic qualification.”
