Willows stuck in drop zone

Walsham-le-Willows 0 Gorleston 2

WALSHAM-LE-WILLOWS remained in the relegation zone with former Needham Market loanee Jamie Godbold proving to be their undoing.

Walsham grew in to the game and played good football through Will Brown and Ryan Foster, but Godbold was causing Walsham problems and, on 24 minutes, a throw-in was cleverly worked to the edge of the area where Godbold hammered home.

A break down the left between Jonny Lambert and Paul Musgrove saw a good ball put in the box, but was not converted.

On 34 minutes, a foul by Matthew Morton on the edge of the Walsham box allowed Godbold to swing an inch-perfect ball into the box for a free header at the far post.

The second half was much better from Walsham with play between Jack Brame and Foster allowing Brown to fluff his shos wide.

Gorleston seemed happy with the two goals and never really ventured in to the Walsham half.

Again, Brown had a good chance on 90 minutes to pull a goal back but, in the six-yard box, put the ball past the post.

Walsham: McAnally, Lambert, Newman, Fenner, Morton, Brame, Simms, Foster, Musgrove, Brown, Diaper. Subs not used: Taylor, Robinson, Claridge.
