Super sub Matt Hayden spoke to deputy sports editor Russell Claydon following his winning goal in his first appearance for Thetford Town on Saturday.
The 73rd minute winner, which crept in under goalkeeper James Bergin at his near post, sparked jubilant scenes as Thetford leapfrogged their rivals in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division table to move six points clear of the bottom three.
The 1-0 win in a cagey affair on Saturday was the third time Thetford have beaten Diss this season, having knocked them out of the FA Cup in August.
With the south Norfolk derby going ahead despite a host of call-offs across the region, the game was watched by a gate of 122, Thetford’s biggest crowd of the season.
Diss’ Rhys Darg described the match as the worst game he has played in.
