The Trunk caused a shock to book their place in the final of the Glasswells St Edmundsbury League Division One Knockout Cup on Saturday, writes Bill Tinkler.

They downed Division One leaders Home Guard 3-2 thanks to strikes from Jack Ellam, Pat Naranjo and Tim Bettes, while Darren Dowds and Ben Tooke netted for the Guard.

They will meet St Edmunds, who were comfortable 5-1 winners against Wickhambrook thanks to goals from Kevin Zdrenka (two), Dan Hollands (two) and Sam Whiting.

RF Saints booked a semi-final spot in the Fair Play Cup with a 4-3 home win against Walsham-le-Willows B.

Goal scorers for the Saints were Jacob Sloane (two), Darren Curry and Martin Hunt, while the B’s three goals came in the last 15 minutes and were scored by Carl Jackson, Lee Sylvester and Luke Tooley.

Bartons Reserves were 11-2 winners against Beck Row in Division Two thanks to goals from Chris Grey (four), Josh Bullock (three), Ross Locke (two), Keiran Lawrence and Josh Codd.

Liam James and Mario Pinto netted for Beck.

Leaders Ram Meadow came from behind to beat Thurston Reserves 2-1 thanks to goals from Justin Farrow and Adam Underwood. Dan Parkington scored for Thurston.

Wortham beat Bury Rovers 3-0 thanks to Jack Bridge (two) and James Miller, while in Division Three Ram Meadow Reserves overcame AFC Black Boy courtesy of Simon Gay’s double.
