Stow’s travel sickness ends

Have your say

Halstead Town 1 Stowmarket Town 2

FOLLOWING 11 straight defeats away from home, Stowmarket finally secured a victory on their travels with an unexpected 2-1 win over Halstead.

Teenagers Elliot Blackman and Connor Padmore started the match and Padmore had a hand in the opening goal, crossing for James Graham to head home.

A mixture of good fortune and stoic defending allowed Stow to maintain the advantage, which they doubled in the 82nd minute.

On the break, Steven Amoss played a neat one-two with Padmore before rounding the keeper and tapping in.

John Root eventually scored for the hosts three minutes into added time, but it was too little too late for Halstead.
