Stowmarket Town 1

March Town United 1

STOWMARKET Town moved off the bottom of the Ridgeons League First Division for the first time in months, but it could have been so much better agianst promotion-chasing March Town United.

The Gold and Blacks led until the 96th minute when an unfortunate own goal secured the Hares a share of the spoils.

Chris Gray’s brilliantly-executed overhead kick from Kieren Joseph’s cross gave Stow a seventh-minute lead and, had Joseph’s long-range effort not bounced over or Yani Duka’s strike not come back off the bar, the last-gasp heartache would have been avoided.

Duka and March’s Marc Welcher were also dismissed in an ill-tempered affair.

Team Bury 1 Thetford Town 1

THETFORD Town were made to settle for a point at Team Bury as they failed to win for the third match in a row.

The Brecklanders took the lead on 16 minutes when good work from Matt Blake found Liam Bolton, who crossed for Matt Dixon to head home.

Bury levelled five minutes before the break when Adam Burroughs was awarded a soft penalty and Evan Key converted the spot-kick.

Thetford: Fancett, Joseph, Richards, Carter, Piggott (Tavares), Bolton, Harley, Cusack (Rocha), Dixon, Blake.

n Thetford’s reserves beat their counterparts from Walsham-le-Willows 4-1 thanks to goals from Ricky Bowers (2) and Nathan Szyslyk (2).
