Needham Market manager Mark Morsley believes his side must win all five of their remaining games if they are to lift the Ryman League Division One North title.
The Marketmen are two points clear of nearest rivals Harlow Town heading into a pivotal Easter Weekend, which sees Morsley’s men take on two teams pushing for play-off spots.
Needham visit fifth-placed Wroxham tomorrow (3pm), before hosting Dereham Town (sixth) at Bloomfields on Monday (3pm).
“We’ve got two tough games against teams that are fighting to get into the play-offs,” said the Needham boss. “They’re not going to lie down.
“The pressure is on us and the pressure is on them as well to get the result.”
Needham’s five-point lead at the division’s summit was cut to two points ahead of this weekend, after Morsley’s side lost 1-0 at Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.
And after seeing their seven-match winning run come to an end, the manager is targeting another winning streak to secure automatic promotion.
“We’ve got to win every game,,” said Morsley. “Harlow’s run-in is easier than ours but it’s still in our hands.
“Six points from the next two games would be fantastic, and whatever happens the game against Harlow here (April 18) will be the all-important game.”
