Following the massive success of last season’s event, Suffolk FA will again be rolling out their ‘Silent Weekend’ from this Saturday.
The event puts an emphasis on letting the players play and creating a positive learning environment, giving the players a chance to explore the game and develop their own outcomes.
Last season’s event saw 600 teams take part, from Under-8s all the way up to adults. The weekend again has the support and backing of the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth League, South Suffolk Youth League, Suffolk FA WAYS, Norfolk & Suffolk Youth League and Suffolk FA Monday Night Football league.
Football Development Administrator Mike Phillips, who is leading this year’s event, said: “Last year was a massive success, it was a huge learning experience for the coaches and the players, some of the ideas and link up play some of the players were coming up with had their coaches and parents looking on in awe.
“It’s amazing to see what the players can come up with when they are given free rein, they are phenomenally creative.
“By supporting the ‘silent’ weekend, coaches, parents and clubs are giving their players a chance to really explore their game.”
