Bury Town have added to their thin squad by signing former Ipswich Town and Notts County youngster Callum Bennett on a pay-as-you-play deal until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old, friends with the Blues’ attacking midfielder Billy Clark, can operate at right-back or in midfield.
He formerly captained the Tractor Boys’ under-18 side, but turned down a contract in April 2012 before joining Sky Bet League One outfit Notts County a year later.
However, he was released in January and has chosen to team up with a host of former Ipswich youngsters at Ram Meadow, including Clark, Seb Dunbar and Joe Whight.
