Bury Town have announced Michelle Banfield-Curran is to join the club as chief executive on January 2, 2015.
A statement on the club’s website said: “Michelle has been working as commercial manager this season, but it had become evident that with her background of leisure management and sports development that her benefit to the club is on a much wider scale.
“Michelle will oversee all aspects of the club off the pitch, but will also work with Ben Chenery to ensure he has the best tools at his disposal to deliver on the pitch as well.”
There have also been changes at boardroom level.
Joining the club are Ian Cowie and Garry Barker, both who take up their positions this week.
Cowie will become the club’s new finance director and will take over the management of the club’s accounts.
He has a previous career in accounting and finance and will be well suited to the role.
He will also be company secretary, responsible for the administration of the limited company.
Barker will become the new development director and be responsible for the club’s development in youth football.
He is currently secretary of Bury Town Youth, a position he will retain, and he will also work to integrate the youth section with the main club — a process that has been ongoing for the past couple of years.
