Bury Town saw their winless run of games extended to six matches as they were dumped out of the Robert Dyas Isthmian League Cup in a 2-1 first round defeat by rivals AFC Sudbury.

Remi Garrett put Bury ahead from the spot in the 20th minute after the striker was hauled down by Ryan Henshaw, before the home side levelled with a penalty of their own after 53 minutes as Joe Whight was adjudged to have handled the ball and James Baker confidently slotted home from 12-yards.

And the turnaround was completed nine minutes later as Jack Wilkinson’s inviting inswinging free-kick was headed home by substitute Sam Clarke to seal victory and progression for David Batch’s side.
