Tom Bullard admitted it was a tough decision to leave Bury Town for Leiston.

Speaking to the Free Press this morning, the departing captain said: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”

Bullard won two promotions and five trophies at Ram Meadow, including this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup.

“I couldn’t have asked for any more,” said the club legend. “I’ve worked with the likes of Trevor Collins, Richard Skelly, Ben Chenery and Richard Wilkins — they have made me the player I am today.”

He added: “The fans have been superb — I’ve already had lots of messages and not had a bad one.”
