Bury Town 2

Bury Town’s four-match winning run came to an end despite them twice going ahead.

In a lively opening period, Marcus Garnham twice saved efforts from long range and Bury went close when a deflected shot from Jordan Patrick nearly beat Luke Chambers.

Bury forced several corners, but were unable to convert, and Concord settled and gave the Bury defence some problems.

Chambers made a fine save to deny John Sands as the Blues regained the initiative and took the lead in the final minute of the half.

Mark Coulson made ground down the left flank and his cross was turned into his own net by Matthew Fry.

Sands had a chance to double the lead at the start of the second half, but shot wide from a good position

Play flowed from end-to-end and Concord struck on the hour-mark when, following a build-up on the right, Leon Gordon fired home from a narrow angle.

Bury regained the lead three minutes later when a pinpoint cross from Patrick was headed home at the far post by Richard Logan.

Concord equalised once more in the 71st minute with a header by Jason Hallett from a long cross.

Ten minutes later, Concord got the decisive goal when Bury failed to deal with a cross to the near post and, in the
resulting scramble, Tony Stokes forced the ball over the line.
