It ha been another strange week weather-wise at Blackdyke Trout Fishery in Hockwold, but that has not put the fish off.

There are still good catches along the reeds with the fish being spotted about a rod’s length out — small nymphs are working well, along with damsels, hares ears, small cats’ whiskers and buzzers on warmer days.

Fishery manager Paul Speed is available for tuition for those who want to improve casts or learn a new one — call 07525 730447.

n Fishing at Larkwood has been consistent in the last week, especially at the weekend with some good numbers of fish being taken.

As usual, the regular anglers have been doing particularly well, using bloodworm, marabou damsel and cats whiskers.

The best results are coming from the area in front of the Lodge.

The best fish of the week was a cracking rainbow of around 10lb, which was released unharmed by Mr Wallis from Kent.

Both lakes are very clear and should remain so for the foreseeable future.
