Haverill Rovers are set to face Haverhill Borough and AFC Sudbury against Mildenhall Town in the opening rounds of the FA Cup

The extra preliminary draw reveals the 184 ties which will kick-off the competition, with 736 clubs in total taking part in the 2018/19 edition of the world's oldest domestic cup competition, with the first games due to be played up and down the country over the weekend of August 10-12.

There are some tasty looking ties locally with a Haverhill derby between Haverhill Rovers and Haverhill Borough in the extra preliminary round, while AFC Sudbury are set to host former goalkeeper Dean Greygoose's Mildenhall Town, in a repeat of last season's first qualifying round which AFC won on a replay at Mildenhall's Rec Way, in the preliminary round on Saturday, August 25 (3pm).

The two Haverhill sides, who share a ground if not a pitch at the New Croft facility in the town, have previously met in an FA competition, with Borough prevailing 2-1 in the FA Vase in the 2016/17 season, with the derby drawing a bumper crowd of 654 to the 3G pitch Borough call home.

Bury Town have been handed a tough opening draw, with Ben Chenery's side having to travel to fellow Bostik League side Waltham Abbey (now in the South Central Division after a lateral move) in the preliminary round.

The Blues will be hoping to make it over the first hurdle having lost 2-1 at home to divisional rivals Tilbury in last season's competition and suffering the humiliation of a 3-0 home defeat to Spalding United the year before.

There will be an extra incentive to have a good cup run this year following the doubling of The FA’s prize fund, winning clubs in the extra preliminary round will now receive £2,250 in prize money, while those who do not progress will receive £750.
