Dreams come true at Ipswich Town Legends match

Supporters fulfilled their dreams by taking to the pitch at Bury Town alongside a host of former Ipswich Town stars on Sunday.

Around 300 people turned out for the second ITFC Legends v Forget-Me-Not FC match, which raised more than £5,500 along with an online photograph auction to be split between the West Suffolk Hospital’s dementia campaign and Ipswich Town Academy.

Matt Holland, Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble were among ex-Bury and Ipswich player Simon Milton’s former Town stars who won 6-2, while current first-team star Tyrone Mings turned out to watch and sign autographs.

Locally-based brothers Hugh and Bart Williams scored for the hospital fans’ team, while Mike Dove and Simon Cole, paying to play for the Legends, were also on target.

The man-of-the-match award was given to Forget-Me-Not goalkeeper Andrew Chapman.
