Double delight for Thurston

It proved a case of double delight for Thurston Under-16s boys who added the FA Vase title to their league championship, with victory over Elmswell.

Having cruised to league title glory undefeated, finishing six points clear, Thurston came out on top of a five-goal thriller with higher league Elmswell to seal a 3-2 success with Ben Seeley grabbing the winning goal.

There was also championship delight for Bury Town Colts Under-12s who were crowned cup winners following a comfortable 4-0 victory over Ipswich Valley Rangers.

After withstanding intense early pressure from Rangers, Bury settled and broke the deadlock against the run of play as Tyler Logan converted Fyn Browne’s pinpoint cross.

That momentum continued into the second half as Colts doubled their tally with Logan turning provider for Mason Bickers who rifled home.

And with confidence high, Browne added a third five minutes later before Jordan Barber completed the scoring with a fine individual effort to seal the title.

Bury Town Under-11s are also celebrating after lifting the Women’s League Cup after a 3-2 success over Felixstowe in their first ever cup final.

Kaitlin Elsey scored three times, including two goals when the team were 2-1 down in what was a fantastic team effort.
