Dolphins’ delight at visiting award

Thetford Dolphins were the proud winners of the trophy for best visiting team at the West Norfolk Open in King’s Lynn.

Twelve swimmers took part in the day-long meet against clubs from West Norfolk, Hunstanton, Wisbech, Huntingdon, North Norfolk Vikings and March.

Dolphins swimmers recorded nine first places, 15 seconds and six thirds and there were 31 personal bests overall.

There was a club record for Alice Fasey, 10, in 100m IM - breaking the one previously set back in 1999.

Top-six places went to: Alex Darton (14), 2nd 50m backstroke, 25m freestyle, 100m IM, 4th 50m freestyle; Alice Fasey (10) 1st 50m breaststroke, 100m IM, 2nd 50m freestyle, 4th 50m butterfly, 5th 50m backstroke; Amalee Neill- Gourlay (9), 2nd 25m freestyle, 3rd 50m backstroke, 6th 50m freestyle; Daniel Clark (12) 2nd 50m backstroke, 100m IM, 3rd 50m butterfly, breaststroke, 5th 50m freestyle; Daniel Penny (10) 1st 50m butterfly, 2nd 50m backstroke, freestyle, 25m freestyle, 100m IM, 3rd 50m breaststroke; Elena Armes (13) 1st 25m freestyle, 3rd 50m freestyle, 4th 50m butterfly, 5th 50m backstroke, 100m IM; Isaac Clark (9) 1st 50m backstroke, freestyle, 100m IM, 2nd 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 25m freestyle; Jacob Wright (14) 5th 25m freestyle, 6th 50m backstroke; Katie Bloomfield (12) 5th 50m breaststroke; Macaulay Harvey (14) 1st 50m butterfly, breaststroke, 2nd 50m freestyle, 3rd 100m IM.
