Stow get back to winning ways
A depleted Stowmarket (208-7) returned to winning ways to stay top of Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division Four, beating Nacton (107) by 101 runs.
Opener George Tilbrook (62) showed his class, but at 80-5 a win seemed unlikely.
However, the in-form Craig Watling went on to score a hard-hitting 84, as Stowmarket posted a good total of 208.
In reply, Nacton could never handle the accuracy of Dale Watling and Josh Finbow, who both took four wickets as the home side strolled to a convincing victory.
l In Division Nine West, Stowmarket II (104) found themselves in desperate trouble at 25-5 in their clash with Elveden (107-3).
Clive Witherly (22 no), Simon Codd (20) and young Ashley Lilley (18) brought respectability to the total.
A total of 104 was never going to be enough, but it gave time for Paul Bird to capture 3-10 as home wicket keeper Alan Flack 946) just fell short of a deserved half century.
l On a good home wicket, Stowmarket Sunday (211-6) secured victory against Tuddenham (208-8) by four wickets, thanks to an excellent 98 from captain Kierran Haynes and flamboyant knocks from Finbow (37) and Codd (33 no)
Alex and Cameron Johns claimed four of the wickets taken and were ably supported by Adam McDonald and Josh Lown.
