It was an unusual start to the week at Blackdyke Trout Fishery with casted lures and floating blobs seeing plenty of fish rising by mid-week.

There were small hoppers on the top then back to the lures with apps blood worms being the most consistent, just to confuse the anglers about what the trout want to take!

The first Airflo Bank Masters event is on Sunday, February 15. Entry forms can be picked up at the fishery or printed off from Iain Barr’s Fly Fishing for Trout Flies. The popular competition has a top prize of £2,000.
