Clare collects an array of awards

Thomas Clare collected an array of medals during an excellent bank holiday weekend in the pool at the UEA Sportspark, in Norwich.

The Bacton swimmer claimed eight golds and two silver medals in all ten events in which he competed after originally qualifying for 13 of the 16 races.

His achievements saw him named as the Top Boy in his age group, as well as the Don Neate Memorial Trophy.

The Don Neate Memorial Trophy is awarded to the top swimmer in the eastern region, covering the six counties of Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Clare been selected by the English Schools Swimming Association to represent the East Division at their championships in Sunderland at the end of next month.
