BURY St Edmunds grabbed their first victory in the East Anglian Premier League after beating struggling Halstead by 148 runs.

At Star Stile, captain Tom Huggins inspired his side, hitting 149 (no) off 159 balls as the visitors declared on 314-1 after 56 overs.

Bottom side Halstead were then bowled out for 166 as they went down to a heavy defeat to the side one place above them in the table.

Meanwhile, Suffolk’s Minor Counties match with Bedfordshire remains in progress after a washed out first day of action.
