Bury St Edmunds duo win silver at national event

Two Bury St Edmunds pupils from Cherry Trees School in Risby, represented East Anglia in the ISA National Schools Athletics Tournament held in Birmingham.

Polly Cailes and Sebastian Brindley, both nine, secured their places in the East Anglia team after winning the regional heats in Southend.

Cailes (60m sprint and long jump) and Brindley (60m sprint) won silver in each of their events against the other six ISA regional winners.

The ISA has a membership of 350 schools through out England, meaning to be second in their events was a great achievement for them both.

This was their first experience of a national final and are they are looking forward to competing again very soon.
