Bury Kings have been crowned 2016 tchoukball UK national champions with five games still left to play.

The team have a perfect record of played ten, won ten, after recent victories over Guildford Inferno, Leeds Galaxy and the Southampton Stags.

Head coach Ian Parker said: “I’m thrilled with today’s results.

“Beating a strong Guildford side by that margin was encouraging and we were doing well against Southampton until the injury.

“To defeat probably our closest rivals by that margin while a player down was a really tough test and showed the character and intelligence of this side to change tactics so quickly.

“Leeds were missing their strongest shooter but you can only beat what’s in front of you and despite being tired we did so in impressive fashion. It was a good day all round.”

Following the collapse of Sudbury Tchoukball Club, Bury St Edmunds Tchoukball Club has gone from strength-to-strength to become one of the premiere clubs within tchoukball UK.
