Joe Whight has departed Bury Town to sign for neighbours Needham Market.

The former Ipswich Town midfielder made 20 appearances for the Blues this season but has decided to drop down a division and join the promotion-chasing Marketmen until the end of the season.

Whight leaves Ram Meadow with Bury languishing at the foot of the Ryman League Premier Division table, eight points adrift of safety, while in contrast, his new side sit second in Division One North, just a point adrift of Harlow Town, with two games in hand.

The new arrival at Bloomfields could be set to make his debut tomorrow at home against Aveley (3pm)
