Experienced defender Jemel Fox has become Stowmarket Town’s fifth summer signing.

The former AFC Sudbury, Needham Market and Mildenhall Town full-back has agreed a one-year deal to join the Thurlow Nunn League First Division champions next season.

Fox’s arrival follows those of defenders Scott Mitchell and Ollie Brown, midfielder Angelo Harrop and striker Andrew Wood.

The 25-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Stanway Rovers, where he racked up 126 appearances in all competitions for the Essex club.

Fox won promotion from the Isthmian League Division One North with one of his former sides Leiston in 2011-12 and will provide plenty of options for the Old Gold and Blacks.

Stow manager Rick Andrews said: “Jemel will gives us great balance, as we’re not going to have the largest of squads.

“He can play in plenty of positions, in a back three, as a left back, left wing-back or even as a left winger.”
