Bury Town fans are set to get a good look at one of their brightest prospects in recent years with red-hot Alfie Bedingham set for his first start.

The long-suffering home support, who have not seen a home win at Ram Meadow since October 25, will be rewarded with a look into what boss Ben Chenery says is a bright future.

That could be headed up by West Suffolk College Academy starlet Bedingham, who has been called up from Thurlow Nunn League feeder side Team Bury after Chenery was present at the Ram on Tuesday to see him score his fourth goal in seven days. His brace against Cornard United following two in a college game.

Chenery said of the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, whose only other Blues appearance was from the bench last season: “He is an exciting talent. He is still learning the game but he has creative qualities and we want to see how he copes with senior football.”

John Kennedy begins a two-game suspension for the Blues, who are 14 points from safety with eight games remaining after a youthful side lost 4-1 at Billericay Saturday.
