Baton twirlers claim plaudits

The Bury Starlets took part in an open competition at Waveney Sports Centre.

Hannah Long, 25, was second in freestyle and Desire Arcancio, 25, was first before the pair combined to take top spot in the freestyle pairs.

Alana North, 11, Ysabella Power, 11, Emily Silvain, 11, and Danielle Basson, 9, took third places in both the dance twirl and pom pom.

The quartet also competed in fancy personality and poise, in which Power came third.
