Former West Suffolk College pupil Ben Barker admits he is excited to become the new head of driver development at Position One Motorsport.

The Porsche Supercup and Pro endurance racer has been working with the team as a driver coach and simulator development driver for the past year, having first become involved with the company whilst driving for Position One partner team Gulf Racing in the 2014 European Le Mans Series.

Barker said: “I am excited to join Position One as Head of Driver Development. I have been involved in the development of the simulator, and I am very happy with the results of what we can now offer.

“I truly believe in the concept of simulator driver development, and I look forward to helping others the same way it has helped me.”

Barker will step up to lead the driver development activities for Position One, who are a company which delivers services to drivers, alongside his coaching duties and professional driving activities.
