Archie is British champion

Brandon youngster Archie Granger capped an excellent day at the Ishin Ryu Championships by becoming British champion at his weight.

Granger, seven, won all of his under-31kg bouts in Thetford for his biggest success to date.

Archie’s mum Samantha said: “I highly recommend Ishin Ryu to all as it is a fun, but disciplined, sport for all ages.

“The whole family are very proud of his achievement.”

Carrick, along with his little sister Izzi-Mae, has been training at Brandon Leisure Centre with Ishin Ryu for two years, under the guidance of Trevor Steward.

During this time they have built great confidence and discipline for the sport.
