Ambrose back at Ipswich
Darren Ambrose is hoping to prove his worth to win himself another deal at boyhood club Ipswich Town.
The midfielder relocated to Thurston last summer ahead of a third spell at the Sky Bet Championship Club, but was one of several players not offered a new contract at the end of the season.
Ambrose, who has also played for Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City, joined in pre-season training at Playford Road this week in a bid to impress manager Mick McCarthy.
The 31-year-old made eight appearances in total for the Blues after joining in September, scoring in an FA Cup tie at Premier League Southampton.
Capped 10 times by England Under-21s, he initially left Portman Road in March, 2013, joining Premier League Newcastle for £1 million before a £1.5 million switch to Charlton at the end of the 2004-05 season.
In total he has made 55 appearances for Ipswich, scoring 12 goals.
