A slow start finally brings rewards
A bit of a slow start to the week at Larkwood Trout Fishery was followed by an excellent ending, especially at the weekend.
Seven rainbows of over 3lbs were caught along with a cracking brownie of around six and a half lbs.
On Saturday in the bright sunshine the fish were all taken at a depth of over 10 feet, while on Sunday they were all caught in the top foot of water due to the cloudier weather.
The best fly by far this week was a Marabou Damsel, along with a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear and a Black Buzzer.
Adult damsels should appear in the next few days with the nymph being active.
