Police should take action

Have your say

RE Dazzling . . . and dim (Letters, February 17).

I could not believe it when I read this letter as it is exactly worded as I was going to write to you.

I also get so frustrated with lazy, inconsiderate drivers who cannot be bothered to replace bulbs in their headlights. When I mentioned this to a friend she said that maybe they are unaware that the bulb is out but when I had one go, several years ago, there is a dark shadow on the road when driving in the dark. The cars with one light on main beam are aware or they would have only one parking light on. I, too, call them parking lights as I thought it was an offence to drive using them instead of dipped headlights.

As to the drivers who come too close behind you and dazzle you with their lights, I adjust my rear view mirror so their lights shine straight back at them. It often works and they dim the offending lights.

Unfortunately, it is not only happening in the Bury St Edmunds area as I come across it when I drive to Norwich and Diss areas, too.

I cannot understand why the police do not take action as surely they must see them while travelling around the counties.
