Clearway is the answer

Have your say

I write in support of Simon Harding (Letters, April 27). In the latest copy of the Highway Code there is a road sign called Clearway, which means no parking or stopping for a length of road. This sign is often mounted on a pole, which would mean less maintainance by the Highway department if implemented.

As for parking charges at Nowton Park, West Stow and Brandon Country Park, I think a nominal fee of a £1 per visit would acceptable to most visitors.

There was an incident at Needham Lake a few years ago when parking meters were introduced and vandalised. We do not want this to happen in Bury, we would all lose out.
